Conciliation

Assisting Families in Resolving Disputes

Conciliation is a court-sponsored dispute resolution process designed to help parties resolve contested issues before they require a judicial determination. In many Probate and Family Court cases, conciliation provides an opportunity for parties to meet with an experienced family law attorney who assists them in identifying areas of agreement, narrowing disputed issues, and exploring potential settlement options.

Unlike a judge, a conciliator does not make decisions or impose outcomes. Instead, the conciliator facilitates productive discussions, provides perspective on the legal issues involved, and helps parties evaluate potential resolutions.

As an experienced family law attorney and court conciliator, I understand both the legal and practical challenges families face during litigation. My goal is to encourage meaningful dialogue, reduce unnecessary conflict, and help parties reach agreements whenever possible, allowing them to avoid the time, expense, and uncertainty of continued litigation.

When Conciliation May Help

Conciliation is commonly used to address disputes involving:

  • Parenting plans
  • Child custody
  • Parenting time
  • Child support
  • Divorce-related issues
  • Other contested family law matters
What to Expect

During conciliation, the parties meet with a neutral attorney who helps facilitate discussion and identify opportunities for agreement. While the conciliator may provide perspective regarding the legal issues involved, the parties remain in control of whether an agreement is reached.

Why Work With Me?

Years of representing clients in contested family law matters have taught me that many disputes can be resolved through meaningful communication when parties are provided with the right structure and guidance. As a conciliator, I strive to create an environment that encourages respectful dialogue while helping families avoid unnecessary litigation whenever possible.
