Guardian ad Litem (GAL)

Independent Investigation in the Best Interests of Children

In certain family law matters, the court may appoint a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) to conduct an independent investigation and provide information that assists the court in making decisions involving children or other important issues.

A Guardian ad Litem gathers information by reviewing documents, interviewing parents, children, and other relevant individuals, and considering the circumstances unique to each family. Depending on the scope of the appointment, the GAL may prepare a written report or provide testimony regarding their findings.

As a Category F Guardian ad Litem, I conduct thorough, objective, and impartial investigations. My role is not to advocate for either party, but rather to provide the court with reliable information that assists in reaching informed decisions. Every investigation is approached with professionalism, fairness, and sensitivity to the unique dynamics of each family.
